Ren Faire Demons: Elf

I recently had the opportunity for a roadtrip to resupply for the winter (can't really get foam latex kits shipped here in the winter), and having done this trip a lot in the past I've always wanted to be able to do a photo shoot or two along the way.
I had a friend willing to make the trip with me and do some modelling so I tried to figure out the best options for a photo shoot. It's a 12 hour trip up (with no stops) and the same back. It's winter weather now, so it's not warm enough to do whatever we want - so there's a lot of limitations on what we could do.
I decided to keep it simple, just some Tiefling Ears that could be applied before leaving and left on until the second shoot, this meant the focus would be a little more on costumes - which also had to be kept simple for several reasons.
We left around 5pm on a Sunday to make the trip overnight and arrive in the Old Quarter of Quebec City in the middle of the night, so we could basically have the run of the place. It's pretty much deserted that time of night.
It was cold and relying on the existing lighting made for a bit of challenge, so we did what we could. Not the most incredible shoot I've ever done, but I'm happy with how a lot of the shoot turned out.
From there we headed towards Laval, QC to my supplier. We were taking our time, making stops along the way, and then a massive traffic jam put us about 3 hours behind in the morning.
We got breakfast, got my supplies and then started towards the location for the second shoot, the Mount Royal Cemetery in Montreal. Never having been there before, I knew this would also come with some major limitations. I did a little research and had a very vague idea of what we could do.
The original plan was to arrive there really early to avoid any people, but we ended up being there around 11am. It was also cold and the costume was intentionally kept simple to avoid it being too obviously a costume, so it wasn't a warm costume.
At this point we'd been on the road for a little over 14 hours, no sleep and we had another 3 hour drive ahead of us to Sherbrooke to visit a shop there. We did finally end up stopping to get some sleep in Edmunston after all this and continuing the drive on Tuesday morning - it was 48 hours later I finally got home.
Had I known more about Sherbrooke I might've attempted a shoot there, but we were running on nearly empty at that point. I'd also had a potential third shoot planned, that was scrapped on the road and fortunately it was the right call as the location had changed since the last time I'd seen it, so it wouldn't have worked out anyway.
Overall it was a fun experience. I know much better my limits doing a shoot like this and if the opportunity ever comes up again, I know how to better plan it all out.
